What do IT companies do

1.Recruit - When IT companies recruit engineers from various colleges,the first thing they do is pre placement talk in which they just tell about company,package they are offering,and the clients etc.I just want to ask these IT companies why are they allowing those people to apply who are from non IT field ???.

2.Selection - During selection process representatives from IT companies just check the communication skills of the participants rather than concentrating on technical issues which these people are supposed to work after selection.

3.Joinning - And when selected candidates join,they have been put under regressive trainning.During trainning proccess tests are conducted and on these basis of these test people are shown exit gate,every candidate is allotted a stream randomly using some software,I just want to ask why interest of candidate is not taken into consideration while allotting streams,computer science candidates are allotted Testing stream while people from non IT field are allotted Siebel,Oracle,Sap etc.

Who gave these IT people the right to decide the career path of a person that whether he/she will do testing whole of his life or do coding in JAVA even if the person is not interested.Why recruitment team doesn't reveal at the time of pre placement talk that they will conduct any exam after joinning and based on those exams you can be thrown out of the company.

It is not just the fault of IT companies but candidates are equally responsible for all such things,why non IT people apply for a job in software industry,what is the use of studying their subject for four years if they are goin to work in an IT industry.

:woohoo: seems like bunch of kids giving moral gyan... companies are run to make money. they employ people to make money not to provide career. if companies have the business they will employ... its easy to blame... if u hv guts, start on your own and make money and prove that you can satisfy employees better than others

I am not questioning the way in which these IT companies make money but I am raising a question because the way in which IT companies show themselves during campus recruitment is not true.

m totally agree wid d above guy.if u hve guts then y shud't u start ur own company..!! n well Companies recruit only those ppl who hve ability to learn new thngs quickly n moreover they prefer IT ppl bcoz they r already familiar wid few concepts but they still hire those NON IT who can learn quickly...so it is nothing to concerned that much abt IT or NON IT...well if u still thnk..then y NON IT ppl r applying for dese IT companies wheather they r eligible or not..!

SELECTION: they r lukn for good communication js bcz u hve to tok to ur clients in US or in UK..if u hve excess talent but not gud communication skills..then its of no USE at all bcoz its not worth sitting in 4*6 room doing coadin n all..! n haan sometimes they only focus on communication skills js bcoz they can put u in callin department.

hi ashutosh can u tell me in IT companies how many engineers have given a chance to interact with clients directly,and more about thing is not about opening own firm because if a person is not placed anywhere he will open his own firm surely but the the topic is posted because these companies show fake dreams and create an obstacle in the path of an emerging enterpeneur,If u work in a IT company ask urself how satisfied are u?????? :?: :?:

-Because most people even after their IT degree dont knw much! they look for people who have something called "learnability"

or the ability to learn! not the ability to mug up stuff and clear bunch of engg exams!

again a how good a person is in understanding something new has nothing to do with his/her current knowledge or with wat is

taught in engineering class !

ur first question->we never tell our shortcomings?? answer is we give them every chance to ask about us during interview phase.

ur second question->about not IT people in IT companies answer is a CSE engineer always knows more computer than a leather or biotech engineer in any case.

guys who dont didnt even clear the training by these companies hav more indepth knowledge about the subject than most

teachers in colleges. you wud knw how true this is if and only if u hav been thru these trainings.
and add to that these companies are providing their own training to the employees cos non-IT grad or IT grad engineering

colleges dont ever teach anything useful

hav done or how u r gonna get the work done and each and every project involves more than one language

I have read much from tis article and some genunine & hard comments from the above Personalities .I admire all those suggestions and comments.
BUT
1)First of all it's Our rigth to choose what we want to Do.Whether to JOIN IT or Not
(2)Knowlege does'nt demande stream If u apply ur field to IT ,ITS fanastic u can be another BIll GATEs or better thn him.

(3)TAKE the work pain experience of IT company if u r not free there.
Make use of the free time if U HAVE NO JOB there for higer degrees.

(4) To be fooled by others is absolutely ours wish .AND IF WE R thn SURELY we do things we should not.NO IT COMPANY force US TO JOIN THEM.

(5)WHATEVER the thing IS we must accept INDIA CHANGES because OF THE IT BOOM.

SO RESPECT 'IT' , and THERE LEADERS AND WISH ONLY THT WHAT U WANT TO DO.
