IIT-JEE result has been declared. This year students from small cities have got top ranks.The maximum number of students who have been selected this year are from Delhi,Mumbai and Chennai. Shitikanth from bihar is the all india topper.Nishant Totla has secured all india 2nd rank.The most important thing is Bihar's "Super 30" group.
"Super 30" is a small group of desperately poor talented students from Patna.These students are trained by Ramanujan School of Mathematics.Coaching center is located in patna, the capital of Bihar.Ramanujan School trains just 30 students a year to take the IIT exam. Anand Kumar, 33, a local mathematician, and Abhayanand, 52, Patna's deputy director general of police and a lover of physics, founded the school in 2003 to help promising locals get ahead in the caste-based society.This year all the "Super 30" students have cleared the IIT-JEE 2008. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has congratulated Sithikant (IIT_JEE 2008 all India topper from Patna) and all the student of "super 30" group of Patna.
Initially, It was announcements that IIT-JEE 2008 score would be used by three new IITs (Bihar Rajasthan and Hyderabad).But,HRD ministry have decided to start campuses in Gujarat, Punjab and Orissa as well from this year.The six new IITs add 700 more seats to the total seats.This year, 3.11 lakh students appeared in the IIT-JEE. 8,652 have been declared qualified to seek admissions to 6,872 seats in the 13 IITs.
