Tata Teleservices is going to launch new location -based service based on Qualcomm's Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology.Company is going to use this technology for the first time in india.
With the help of Qualcomm's QPoint and gpsOne solutions, all developers will be able to creat precise,reliable, and compelling location based applications.The A-GPS service will leverage triangulation with cellular base stations and satellite-based GPS for precise location in both rural and urban environments, including the inside of buildings and structures.
Company has planned to offer both consumer and enterprise LBS(location based services) applications.Applications like Friend finder and social networking will be included in consumers applications,while enterprise customers will largely benefit from asset- and fleet- tracking applications. These services will be available on multiple handsets from Tata's catalog at the end of this year.
