Sydney: a survey conducted among 6000 teenagers and 7000 between the age 10 to 14Yrs. And its really found worrying mental stress condition among them.

The worries among them are really some high profile worries like how to afford a house.The study also revealed that teenagers today were earning more than twice what they used to earn 15 Yrs ago with 76.55$ a week in Yr 2K7 as compared to $31.60 in a week in 1992.The biggest worries among them were personal safety and being able to buy their own home.It's 38% of the respondents 'home affordability' was a major concern, 43 per cent worried about 'getting a job', 44 per cent 'being successful' and 48 per cent worried about 'making money'.75% girls admitted not feeling safe in their own neighbourhoods, while one in three felt unsafe in their own homes at night. The project also found that the teenagers are more stressed.

" Despite of material worries, traditionally 'adult' worries are filtering down to today's teens, with career, finance and housing as paramount concerns," says an editor of famous newspaper in Australia.
 

85% of teenagers believed it is acceptable to regularly use alcohol.Although among negatives there r hope of some positive response also among the teens, who think drug use is acceptable has also saw a significant drop from 39 per cent in 2003 to 31 per cent in 2007.

The survey also found that 33% lost their virginity at a mere age between 13 & 15, with 36% at an age between 16 to 17 and amazingly 2.3 % before 13!!.While 17% teenagers had kissed someone of the same sex, while 7% had participated in cyber sex.

More than half of girls aged 14 to 17 used social networking sites MySpace, Bebo or Facebook.Researchers said the changes could be attributed to a change in the family context over the past two decades, with fewer traditional families, higher divorce rates, more women working, smaller families and older parents.
