First time ever in the history of IIT kharagpur 15 students have got regret letter from three US IT firms who have selected these candidates in their campus placement at a package of more than 7 lakhs per annum.This incident happened before in NIT bhopal campus where students got a letter same as regret letter from Sapient.
These companies are Montolova, Magma Design Automation and Paradigm,during campus placement season in january they have selected students from different branches like Electrical,Electronics and Computer science.Now when these students were waiting for their joinning letter to fly America they got a regret letter stating that due to internal reorganisation they can't be given joinning letters.
Now who is responsible for the career of these students,they are left with no option rather than fight for offcampus job.To avoid these kind of situations Colleges should take initial measures like taking committments from companies that selected students will surely get their joinning letters whatever may the situation is.
