Under the banners of Popcorn Motion Pictures and Balaji Telefilms Ltd, Mission Istanbul is an ambitious venture directed by Apoorva Lakhia Mission Istanbul explores how the media is used today by terrorists as a messenger of terror across the world. It’s a story about a promising journalist Vikas Sagar who is undergoing an agonizing divorce with his wife Anjali(shriya saran). His life takes a surprising turn when Owais Hussain offers him to head his channel with lucrative salary.Here comes the turning point of the picture where Vikas gets clutched in the web of the controversial people who won’t allow him to quit the job as he may become dangerous for some sections of the society over there. Turkish commando Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi) warns him about the consequences that may follow his decision of leaving the place, hinting at the rise of his last breath. The movie moves around VIkas and his fights and tricks to come out of this web. Omar Abdullah son of Frooq Abdullah is also playing an important role in this movie,the main aim to make him appear in this movie was to clear tell people whats exactly going in the valley of Istanbul . The launch of this movie was made in the prestigious IIFA awards. But as the plot of the movie is quite common and old the success is not assured so much infact the trailers and publicity campaigns are not up to the mark to draw audience.
