Music is a DRUG ingested via the ears!!Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, Heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul

That’s what I feel about music but when I heard that all the melodious songs which I listen are the so called Inspirations or could say the copies of the music directors whom I considered as God once.

Be it Pritam Chakrowarthy , Anu Malik , Bappi Lahiri , Himesh Reshamiya ,  Rakesh Roshan , Jatin Lalith etc. Each and every music director is involved in this Plagiarism business. But when caught they say that the song is “Inspired” not copied. How could they take the credit of these songs even if they are not their creations? Every song of Pritam  , Anu malik etc is inspired from other songs.   I guess in our country term "copy right" has come to a meaning "it is right to copy". The lifting, or plagiarism, has become so blatant that the people concerned have even stopped taking note.

Some of the most famous copying :-

1.Hindi Song: Love you my angel (Pyare Mohan)
Music Director: Anu Malik
Copied From: Walk Don't Run (The Ventures cult classic)
2.Hindi Song: Rabba de di (Pyare Mohan)
Music Director: Anu Malik
Copied From: Sidi Mansour (Saber El Rubai)
3.Hindi Song: Dil Dil Dil (Pyare Mohan)
Music Director: Anu Malik
Copied From: N/A (The Chantay's Pipeline)
4.Hindi Song: Shikdum (Dhoom)
Music Director: Pritam
Copied From: Sikidim (Tarkan)
5.Hindi Song: Dhoom Machaale (Dhoom)
Music Director: Pritam
Copied From: Mario takes a walk (Jesse Cook)

Many of us know about this blatant copying of the music but thousands of people living in India are even unaware of this phenomena and they praise them for creating so much mesmerizing melodies and give them the credit for success of their creations but still they don’t know that the God of the Indian music Industry are not the people who should get the credit . Some times I feel that this copying of music has become so prominent that  we are not even able to recognize the original songs .

The work of a music director is to create music and giving them a melodious touch and for this they are paid but what should be done with these directors who steal, copy or lift the songs. In India we charge people for committing crimes like stealing or murdering etc . Shouldn’t they be  charged for doing this crime of lifting music . Every year these music directors get so many awards ……………….to copy and lift songs Is’nt it????

And what about those music directors and singers  who have put in so much of toil and hard work to make some original songs they don’t even get a credit and compensation for this . Don’t you think that these people are putting a black mark on the image of India  and has created a bad name for Indian music composers .

Plagiarism in Indian music is a chronic issue. All the current generation MDs including Yuvan, Harris, are lifting from various sources - the former used to do a lot of liftings and the latter is still doing a lot shamelessly. There is no one genuine composer in Tamil, Hindi who composes only original tunes. Everybody including Ilayaraja, Burman, MSV has involved in stealing music. Just that these genius have lifted a few while the current corp of MDs lift a lot without a shame.
Lack of creativity is the main reason. Pritam has been sued recently for copying a music. I hope atleast after seeing this, other composers would stop doing such shameless job. They should realise that people are aware of their lifts and they are no more fools to listen to the stolen music.
