Its easy Blocking a domain on your computer or in a network no need of any software nor any software which can harm your computer with spywares or addwares .Juts follow all these simple steps No domains are blocked by default (except phishing sites!), but it’s easy to block a domain, such as porn sites, malicious websites (virus etc) or any website that you don’t want to get accessed on your computer.
ALL YOU NEED IS TO FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING 5 STEPS MENTIONED BELOW: 1. Open http://www.opendns.com/ 2. create a free account. or else sign in if you have an account 3. Add a network to your account in the Dashboard. If you already have a network added in your OpenDNS account, skip this step.
Add a IP address(if You are not in a network or a range of addresses to create a network). OpenDNS supports dynamic IP addresses, common for cable, DSL, and dial-up customers.
4. Add a domain to block (which you want to block). From the Networks page, click on the wrench icon () to edit Settings for that network. (Or click on the Settings tab in the Dashboard and navigate to the appropriate network.) *Click Block Domains on the left-hand side navigation.
Enter the domain(s) you want to block on that network (www.xyz.com). Choose whether this block should apply to all networks, if you have more than one. if you want block doamain to a particular ip address u can also do so
5. Wait for 3-4 minutes your preferences to be pushed to all servers.
You may then test by attempting to visit the site you blocked. Make sure any local caches (browser, computer, router, firewall, etc.) are cleared before you test. Recheck whether u have cleared all the mentioned caches if the domain is not blocked *Turn on content filtering for your network(s).
